Josh Harris

Josh Harris is Co-Founder and Member of Board of Directors of Apollo Global Management, LLC. He is also the co-founder of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), which includes in its portfolio the Philadelphia 76ers, the New Jersey Devils, leading venue Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., the GRAMMY Museum Experience Prudential Center, the Delaware Blue Coats the Binghamton Devils, the Sixers Innovation Lab Crafted by Kimball, and renowned esports franchise Team Dignitas.

He graduated summa cum laude and Beta Gamma Sigma from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and received his MBA from the Harvard Business School where he was named a Baker and Loeb Scholar.  Among other civic activities, Josh serves as a member of The Federal Reserve Bank of New York Investors Advisory Committee on Financial Markets and serves on the Board of Trustees for The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Josh’s Philadelphia roots run deep, as his grandparents and parents were native Philadelphians. In 2011, he saw Philadelphia close-up, running the 26.2 mile Philadelphia Marathon in 3:48, a personal best. In 2015, Josh competed the 10-mile Broad Street Run in 1:20:01.

David Blitzer

David S. Blitzer is the Global Head of Blackstone’s Tactical Opportunities group, and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Blackstone Tactical Opportunities employs an opportunistic investment strategy across asset classes, industries and geographies and seeks to capitalize on time-sensitive or non-traditional investment opportunities that are differentiated and difficult to source, analyze or execute. Since joining Blackstone in 1991, Mr. Blitzer has been involved in the execution of Blackstone investments across a variety of asset classes, including establishing and leading Blackstone’s European private equity business. He is also the co-founder of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), which includes in its portfolio the Philadelphia 76ers, the New Jersey Devils, leading venue Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., the GRAMMY Museum Experience Prudential Center, the Delaware Blue Coats, the Binghamton Devils, the Sixers Innovation Lab Crafted by Kimball, and renowned esports franchise Team Dignitas.

Mr. Blitzer is based in New York and graduated magna cum laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Blitzer currently serves on the Boards of Harlem RBI, an East Harlem social services and educational organization, the Riverdale Country School, and the Board of Overseers at the Wharton School. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Mount Sinai Surgical Department.

HBSE CREATES PLATFORM FOR ACCELERATED GROWTH 

FORMATION ALSO INTENSIFIES EXPLORATION OF STRATEGIC INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Sept. 25, 2017 – Josh Harris and David Blitzer announced today the formation of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE), which will include in its portfolio the Philadelphia 76ers, the New Jersey Devils, leading venue Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., the GRAMMY Museum Experience Prudential Center, the Delaware 87ers, the Binghamton Devils, the Sixers Innovation Lab Crafted by Kimball, and renowned esports franchise Team Dignitas.

HBSE creates a vehicle for Harris and Blitzer to accelerate growth of their holdings through focused resources across their properties, while intensifying exploration of strategic investment opportunities. With a track record of innovation, HBSE positions itself as one of the most pioneering global sports and entertainment businesses, while positively impacting the local communities in which it operates.

HBSE will also bring together some of the most talented and innovative minds in sports and entertainment, led by Scott O’Neil and Hugh Weber, who were named HBSE CEO and HBSE President, respectively. Brad Shron has also been promoted to General Counsel, HBSE.

  • Chris Heck to President of the Philadelphia 76ers
  • Lara Price to Chief Operating Officer of the Philadelphia 76ers
  • Adam Davis, Chief Revenue Officer of the Prudential Center and Devils, will expand his role to run the partnership business for all HBSE properties 
  • Jake Reynolds to Chief Revenue Officer of the Philadelphia 76ers 
  • Katie O’Reilly to Chief Marketing Officer for the 76ers
