Dr. Louise Burke

Louise is a sports dietitian with over 35 years of experience in the education and counselling of elite athletes. She was the Head of Sports Nutrition at the Australian Institute of Sport throughout its existence from 1990-2018 and remains in a strategy role in the restructured AIS. She holds a Chair in Sports Nutrition in the Mary MacKillop Institute for Health Research, Australian Catholic University. Louise was the team dietitian for the Australian Olympic Teams for the 1996-2012 Summer Olympic Games. Her publications include over 300 peer-reviewed research papers and book chapters, and the authorship or editorship of many textbooks on sports nutrition. She would swap all of this if her Australian Rules football team, St Kilda, could win a premiership.
